Outage Resolved at 1:00am, September 29th.
Microsoft has reported that as of 1am, September 29th, the outage affecting users being unable to access Microsoft 365 (M365) services has been resolved.
If you are still experiencing difficulties in logging into your M365 services, please contact the IT Service Desk at itservicedesk@unb.ca or by phone at 506-457-2222 (Fredericton) or 506-657-2222 (Saint John).

Microsoft has validated their recovery efforts and is continuing to monitor the service is working on the full recovery to remaining impacted users.
With Microsoft's report of their service restoration efforts providing recovery to most users, our next update to the UNB community will be on Tuesday morning, September 29th.

Updated 9:45pm, September 28th.
Microsoft has determined that a specific portion of their infrastructure is not processing authentication requests in a timely manner. They are pursuing mitigation steps for this issue. As well, they are rerouting traffic to alternate systems to provide further relief to the affected users.
While the Microsoft outage is not resolved, we do have reports from members of the UNB community they are able to use Microsoft 365 services, and as such, ITS will update the UNB community when there is a significant update about this outage from Microsoft.

While Microsoft continues to investigate the root cause of the outage, they have begun implementing some changes to alternate infrastructure to improve the user experience.
UNB faculty, staff, students and alumni may be able to start logging in to M365 services soon.
ITS will continue to update the UNB community as information regarding this outage becomes available from Microsoft.

Update at 7:41pm, September 28th.
Microsoft has confirmed that users who are currently logged into Microsoft 365 (M365) sessions do not appear to be affected by this outage.
Microsoft has advised that they are investigating an issue that is affecting access to multiple Microsoft 365 services.
As such, UNB students, faculty, alumni and staff may not be able to access Microsoft 365 services, such as:
