Centre for Hellenic Studies

The Hellenic Centre of the University of New Brunswick was established in 2007 and is the first of its kind in the Atlantic region — and one of a very small number across Canada.

The purpose of the centre is to foster an understanding and appreciation of the impact of Hellenic culture and language on contemporary life across such diverse areas as art, architecture, politics, philosophy, religion, social sciences, law, medicine and the sciences.

In order to achieve these goals the centre will strive to facilitate research, teaching and public education concerning the legacy of the Hellenic civilization from Ancient to Byzantine and Modern times, both in Greece and in the Hellenic diaspora.

Contact the director, Maria Papaioannou, for more information.
