Dr. Mahmoud H. Qutqut is currently an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton, NB, Canada since Sept 2023. Before joining UNB, he was Chair of the Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing Department in the Faculty of Information Technology, at Applied Science University in Amman, Jordan from July 2022 till August 2023 and as an Associate Professor since December 2019.

He joined Applied Science University in October 2014 where he was appointed as Assistant Professor. Dr. Qutqut was a visiting assistant professor at Queen's University School of Computing and a research associate at the Telecommunications Research Lab from March 2017 to September 2019. He received his Ph.D. in 2014 from Queen's University in Canada, where he worked under the supervision of Professor Hossam S. Hassanien. He received his M.Sc. in Telecommunication Systems from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois in 2008 and his B.Sc. in Computer Systems from Applied Science University in Jordan in 2004.

He is a member of the IEEE and ACM and has served as Technical Program Committee co-chair, member and reviewer of many international conferences and journals. He has several publications of the top-tier venues in the research area of networking like IEEE Access, IEEE ICC, and IEEE Globecom.
