Dr. Pooja Booluck-Miller is an Assistant Professor in Francophone Studies in the Department of Humanities and Languages at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John. She completed her BA, MA, and PhD at the University of British Columbia. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the representation of migration and trauma in African, Caribbean and Indo-Oceanic Francophone literatures.

She has recently published articles in journals, including Voix Plurielles and Alternative Francophone, on topics such as the impact of trauma on identity, children’s experiences of illegal migration, and the dynamics between women’s voices and silence. Her research explores the interplay of these themes within the context of Francophone literature.

She was recently awarded the Harrison McCain Award for Young Scholars for her project on the significance of children’s literature in promoting global awareness and fostering empathy.
