Tobin LeBlanc Haley (she/her) is a political scientist and Associate Professor. Originally from New Brunswick, she completed her BA (Hons) and MA at the University of New Brunswick before earning her PhD from York University.

Her research sits at the intersection of Canadian social policy and political economy. She examines the politics of housing, disability, and poverty within Canada's ever-changing welfare state. Her community-engaged research draws primarily on qualitative and mixed methods to understand how social policy shapes the lives of marginalized communities and to inform more equitable policy development. She is co-director the Housing, Mobilization and Engagement Research Lab (HOME-RL).

Selected community-engaged research

The Staying Home Project, the first national study of rent banks in Canada, conducted in partnership with the Canadian Rent Bank Coalition.

Without Protection, a mixed-methods study documenting tenants' experiences of New Brunswick's housing crisis and advancing evidence-informed tenant protections.

Digital Storytelling in Dufferin County, a participatory arts-based project exploring the experiences of rural residents living with poverty and social exclusion.
