Mingze Li

Mingze Li is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of New Brunswick. His research focuses on applied econometrics, with particular interests in environmental economics, energy economics, and empirical growth, combining academic rigor with policy-relevant analysis. His work applies spatial econometric methods to examine the interactions between energy consumption, environmental outcomes, and economic performance, with publications and ongoing research spanning both academic and policy-oriented contexts. His research contributes to both academic scholarship and policy discussions, including work related to international organizations.

Prior to joining the University of New Brunswick, Mingze earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Guelph, an M.A. in International Economics and Finance from Toronto Metropolitan University, and a B.A. in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University. Previously, Mingze worked at Mount Allison University as well as with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) within the Economic Analysis and Policy Division (EAPD).
