Come watch a French documentary (The Myth of the Black Woman) directed by an award winning Haitian-Canadian actress in honor of Black History Month. Wednesday, February 25th in Singer Hall 156 at 6:30pm. Movie trailer: https://www.imdb.com/fr-ca/title/tt22766264/

This feature-length documentary is about the imagery of black women in the media, from the black slave of the 18th century to Michelle Obama. It is an investigation into how stereotypes originate from slavery, and still affect the lives of black women in Quebec.

The film will be in French with English subtitles, and all students are welcome!

Chiara Falangola, Department of French Professor, will introduce the film and its significance at the beginning of the screening. Don't miss out !
