Title: From the Borders to the Core: The Final Collapse of the Assyrian Empire
Abstract: The Assyrian state lasted over a thousand years in northern Mesopotamia; its final fall was rapid and catastrophic. This talk will look at the archaeological and textual evidence for its collapse with a special focus on new evidence from excavations on the periphery of the empire.
