What is Mindfulness?
According to Jon Kabat-Zinn, mindfulness is "the awareness that arises from paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally".  In this class, we will teach techniques to cultivate a practice of mindfulness in daily life.

About MindfulU
MindfulU is a training consisting of four 75-minute sessions over 4 weeks. This program was developed by psychiatrists at Duke University and has been shown in studies to reduce stress and anxiety in university-aged students while improving sleep.

Fall 2023 Dates/Times:
Thursday, Oct. 12 | 2:30 - 3:50 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 19 | 2:30 - 3:50 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 26 | 2:30 - 3:50 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 2 | 2:30 - 3:50 p.m.

MindfulU is a skill-building training with other students and is NOT group therapy.  Because the benefits of mindfulness only happen with regular practice, attendance at all four sessions, short readings between sessions, and daily independent meditation/mindfulness practice is required.
