The UNB Reading Series is pleased to invite you to a reading by Alexander MacLeod, with opening reading by Mike Thorn, on Wednesday, March 22 at 7 p.m. Atlantic.

Alexander MacLeod is a fiction writer and a professor of English and Atlantic Canada Studies at Saint Mary’s University. His first collection, Light Lifting, was a finalist for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, and Lagomorph, his collaboration with Andrew Steeves, recently won the 2021 Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia’s Masterworks Arts Award. His new collection of stories, Animal Person, will be published next month.

Mike Thorn is a PhD student in UNB’s English Department and the author of Shelter for the Damned, Darkest Hours, and Peel Back and See. His fiction has appeared in numerous magazines, anthologies and podcasts, including Vastarien, Dark Moon Digest, The NoSleep Podcast, and Tales to Terrify. 

This reading is free and open to the public and will take place on the UNB Fredericton Campus, in Carleton Hall, Room 106. Masks are required. This event would not be possible without our generous sponsors, The UNB Department of English, the Faculty of Arts Shaw Trust, and The Fiddlehead.
