What is the impact of murder on individuals, families, neighbourhoods and communities? Can we impose modern attitudes towards violence, crime and suffering on the past? This research presentation addresses these and other issues by examining three homicide cases associated with the Saint John neighbourhood formerly known as the East End in the period 1900 to 1940.
