The University of New Brunswick Fredericton will be hosting a series of publicly funded immunization clinics for the 2020-2021 influenza season.

There is no cost for the vaccine, and it is available for all faculty, staff, students and their families. Please call the UNB Student Health Centre at 453-4837 to book an appointment. There will also be a limited number of drop-in appointments depending on availability.

Future clinics will be held on Oct. 22, 27 and 29, as well as Nov. 4, 6 and 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Each clinic will be held in MacLaggan Hall. Please enter at the front door at Dineen Dr.

On the day of your appointment, please make sure to wear your community face mask, a t-shirt or tank top to allow easy access to your upper arm and leave enough time for a brief waiting period after your injection.

Influenza virus or “the flu” is a common upper respiratory infection. It often starts with a headache, body aches, chills and a cough or sore throat. You may also develop a fever, loss of appetite, fatigue, runny nose and sneezing. Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may occur. The flu can lead to missed time from work or school. It is very contagious, but also very preventable.

Getting a flu shot every year is one of the most effective ways to prevent catching the flu and spreading it to others.

Building: MacLaggan Hall. Please enter at the front door at Dineen Dr.
