Farewell Reception for John Bigger-FR

The Office of Capital Planning and Operations would like to invite you to attend a farewell reception for John Bigger, Interim Associate Vice President, Campus Operations (Fredericton).

In January 2009, John came to UNBF to take the position of Manager, Real Estate and Property Development in the Office of Capital Planning and Property Development.  In November 2016, he assumed the role of Interim Associate Vice President, Campus Operations (Fredericton) while also retaining the responsibilities of Director of Real Estate and Property Development.  John’s vision for this role included developing a plan to eliminate the labour chargeback system in FM without a budget impact, and merging the two units of FM and Security & Traffic into one space.  Both of those objectives have been successfully completed and has laid the foundation for continuous improvements across Campus Operations. 

Throughout his time at UNBF, John was a member of the Properties Committee of the Board of Governors.  John has also represented the university with national and international professional associations.  Perhaps most notably, he served on the board of the Association of University Real Estate Officers for many years, including a term as President. 

Prior to joining UNBF, John worked at the Department of Supply and Services in the Provincial government. This experience served him very well as he always knew who to call at government to help move a project along.
