UNBF's Physics Department Seminar will feature Dawn Meredith, Prof. of Physics & Astronomy, University of New Hampshire, speaking on 'Physics for the Life Sciences.'

Dawn Meredith's research in Physics Education focuses on topics such as problem solving, uncovering students initial  ideas about physics, the role of active learning and conceptual understanding, and how beliefs about knowledge and learning impact student behaviour. Her biggest projects have been designing and assessing curriculum in two interdisciplinary courses: introductory calculus/physics and introductory physics for life science students. In this talk, Dawn will convey the approaches that have been used for the life science students studying physics and discuss the evidence that they work.
