The Biology Seminar Series is proud to host Dr. Jesse Popp (Mount Allison University) this Friday, Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. in Bailey Hall, 146.

Dr. Popp will be presenting her talk entitled, 'Indigenous Knowledge, Moose Ecology and Population Monitoring.'

Abstract:

As a cultural keystone species to many Indigenous peoples across Canada, moose play important roles in maintaining ecological and cultural integrity. Moose populations are currently in decline across many regions of the country. Community-based population monitoring and culturally inclusive research that embraces multiple ways of knowing can improve our understanding of factors related to decline, ultimately contributing to the preservation of this important species.

All are welcome and we hope to see you there!
