The UNB Associated Alumni has a rich and proud tradition of keeping UNB alumni connected with each other and with the university through its reunion activities.

Come back to the Fredericton campus May 30-June 2, 2024 to reconnect and reminisce with former classmates. The weekend will be filled with events and celebrations that will bring you back to ‘the good old days’ at UNB, including our beloved lobster boil and senior classes’ dinner.

Schedule of Events

Thursday, May 30

  • Civil Engineering Class of 1969 Meet and Greet: 5 - 6:30 p.m.
    • Meet up with your 1969 Civil Engineering classmates at this reception before joining the All Class Meet and Greet. It is the perfect way to start your weekend.
      • Location: TBD
      • Cost: $10
  • Law Class of 1994 Welcome Reception: 5 - 7:30 p.m.
    • Start your weekend off right with a return to where it all began! Connect with your fellow grads, former professors, spouses and friends, over munchies and drinks in the newly renovated Student Lounge (cash bar provided). This event is open to LLB‘94 alumni and their guests.
      • Location: UNB Law Building, Lounge
      • Cost: Pay as you go
  • All Classes Meet and Greet: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
    • Meet up with classmates, fellow alumni and friends at this casual event while enjoying some finger foods and a cash bar. This is the perfect way to start reconnecting with classmates
      • Location: Student Union Building, Atrium
      • Cost: free

Friday, May 31
Red and Black Day: Wear your red and black with pride!

  • Class of 1974 Golden Grad Breakfast: 9 - 10:30 a.m.
    • Fine early morning dining with fine friends. Meet UNB President Paul Mazerolle and enjoy the Golden Grad buffet breakfast. (This breakfast is open to 1974 graduates and their guests only)
      • Location: UNB Student Union Building, Ballroom
      • Cost: free
  • Classes of 1974 and 1999 Pin Ceremony and BBQ: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
    • Special Pin Ceremony for alumni celebrating their 50th and 25th year reunions, followed by a BBQ down at Memorial Hall.
      • Location: UNB Student Union Building, Cafeteria to start and move to Memorial Hall for the BBQ
      • Cost: free
  • Faculty of Engineering BBQ: 12 - 1:30 p.m.
    • Join Dean Joshua Leon as well as Engineering alumni, students, faculty and staff for a feast of food and time to chat with old friends and colleagues. The BBQ will be followed by an open house of the engineering faculty.
      • Location: Head Hall (exact location TBD)
      • Cost: free
  • Faculty Open Houses: 1 - 3 p.m.
    • Interested to see how your faculty has evolved since your time at UNB? Be sure to take part in our faculty open houses to walk the halls of your former buildings, meet faculty and staff, explore what's new, and connect with your faculty dean.

  • UNB at Picaroons Roundhouse: 3 p.m. on into the evening
    • Looking for a place to spend your Friday afternoon with friends and fellow UNBers? Check out one of Fredericton’s popular craft breweries! Drop by the UNB alumni-owned Picaroons Roundhouse beginning at 3 p.m. to unwind and socialize in a casual setting, while enjoying views of the Saint John River. The brewery will be open to the public, so seating is first come first served. All UNB alumni attendees will receive a complimentary drink ticket and will be entered to win some exciting UNB prize packs!

  • Class of 1974 AND EARLIER Senior Classes Dinner: 6 - 9 p.m.
    • An opportunity to dine and share your favourite memories of UNB with alumni from the Classes of 1974 and earlier. This evening is all about UNB memories and reminiscing as we share a great meal and some great stories.
      • Location: Richard J. CURRIE CENTER, Long Hall
      • Cost: $55
  • Law Alumni Pub Night: 9 p.m - 12 a.m.
    • The Law Class of 1999 has organized a pub night and would like to extend the invitation to all UNB Law graduates. Enjoy a night of drinks, finger foods and a DJ in the newly renovated lounge in our beloved Law Building.

Saturday, June 1

  • UNB at Boyce Farmers' Market: 9 - 11 a.m.
    • Revisit a Saturday tradition. Recognized as one of Canada’s top 10 community markets, the Fredericton Boyce Farmers Market is the city’s traditional Saturday morning gathering spot downtown for fresh and healthy foods, craft, creativity and conversation.

  • Class of 1959 Tour of Beaverbrook Art Gallery: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
    • John Leroux (PhD’20), manager of collections and exhibitions at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, has kindly welcomed the return of the UNB Class of '59 to the art gallery for a tour. The Gallery has recently undergone a major construction project dedicated to the late Harrison McCain. Construction on the Harrison McCain Pavilion began in 2019 with the goal of creating a fully accessible, 10,000 square foot expansion to the Beaverbrook Art Gallery that would dramatically change the streetscape of Queen Street, honoring the legacy and generosity of Harrison McCain.

  • Law Class of 1994 at the Rogue: 12 - 3 p.m.
    • Come join us for lunch and some local beer and world-class whisky tasting at one of the Class of '94's favourite pubs!

  • Law Class of 1999 Pub Crawl: 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.
    • Come relive your younger days and enjoy some good company while we sample beverages at several downtown establishments! More location details to follow. This event is open to 1999 UNB Law grads and their guests.
      • Location: Downtown Fredericton
      • Cost: Pay as you go
  • Law Class of 1974 Reception: 2 - 4 p.m.
    • Join your classmates for an informal reception at the Law School to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our graduation. This will be a chance to revisit the Law School, learn about its present and future plans and most importantly a chance for us to reconnect with each other, reminisce a bit and have an enjoyable time. This event is open to LLB‘74 alumni and their guests.

  • BBA Class of 1974 Wine and Cheese: 4 - 6 p.m.
    • Join your BBA'74 classmates for a wine & cheese social - an opportunity to get together before moving on to the Maritime Lobster Boil. This event is open to BBA'74 alumni and their guests.
      • Location: Richard J. CURRIE CENTER, 5th Floor Boardroom
      • Cost: $10
  • Reception before Maritime Lobster Boil: 6 - 7 p.m.
    • Mingle with fellow alumni and friends before sitting down to a traditional Maritime meal.

  • Maritime Lobster Boil: 7 - 10:30 p.m.
    • Enjoy an excellent Maritime tradition. You do not want to miss this night. The dinner will be followed by an opportunity to kick up your heels to tunes by Spotlight Entertainment, who will happily take requests! This event is all about UNB pride – so wear your red and black!

    • Farewell Breakfast: 9 - 10:30 a.m.
      • Join your classmates one last time to bid adieu and see what’s it’s like to dine as a student at meal hall.

      • Come say goodbye until our 30th reunion with breakfast at the Diplomat!
