Message from the UNB Alumni Association President

Peter SyroidSpring is a time of new beginnings and also the time of year for celebrating our new graduates! On behalf of the UNB alumni community, I’d like to congratulate the UNB Class of 2020 on its outstanding achievement. Graduation is the culmination of countless hours of hard work, perseverance and the attainment of a lofty goal. I encourage every new graduate to build on their UNB experience and continue to set goals as they begin the next exciting chapter in their life. This is only the “end of the beginning” of their relationship with UNB, as we now welcome 2020 graduates into the alumni family. While it’s unfortunate that we’re not all together commemorating through encaenia and convocation ceremonies, you’ll find stories of our graduates and their many remarkable accomplishments within this edition of Alumni News direct. I encourage you to also explore the graduation website to see how our graduates were celebrated by the UNB community, including through Associated Alumni virtual champagne toasts.

Many of you may be anticipating the spring print edition of the Alumni News that would normally be arriving in your mailbox in the coming weeks. For the safety of our members, we chose not to release a print issue this spring, but will release the next print issue of the magazine this coming fall. In the meantime, our organization has been working to keep you informed and connected with your alma mater through more frequent editions of the Alumni News direct, such as this.

I sincerely hope this message finds you well and you have the opportunity to take advantage of the well-deserved warmer weather.

Sincerely,
Peter Syroid (BScME'98, D-TME'98, MBA'03)
