Important aspects of computer architecture will be covered with a unifying theme of computer systems performance. Topics include computer evolution, system busses, main memory, cache memory, memory management, CPU structure, CPU pipelining, superscalar processors, reduced instruction set computers, 64-bit compressors, and paralell processing architectures. Prerequisites: ECE 2215, ECE 3221.
