Examine fundamental theories in second and additional language education related to topics such as definitions and assessment of language proficiency, cognitive effects of bilingualism and multilingualism, language and identity, and bilingual education programs, and reflect on their practical applications.  Notes: Required course for CTESL candidates. Recommended course for CTFSL candidates. French oral proficiency certificate with a minimum level of B2 (CEFR) or Advanced (OPI) is required.
