Examine the principles of cost-benefit analysis. This course covers welfare economics, addresses how to treat intangible factors, and considers non-efficiency considerations. Learn about time discounting, various evaluation criteria, and how to account for uncertainty and risk. The knowledge gained in this course will give students the skills to critically evaluate public and private projects. NOTE: ECON 3023 recommended.

Prerequisites: 3 ch of first-year microeconomics (ECON 1013 or ECON 1014and 3 ch of first-year macroeconomics (ECON 1023 or ECON 1024)or ECON 1073.
