Explore the financing of global trade and capital flows. This course covers the balance of payments, foreign exchange markets, and exchange rates. Examine how macroeconomic policies function under both fixed and flexible exchange rate systems and analyze various international monetary systems. The knowledge gained in this course will provide the tools to understand and analyze international finance and policy. NOTE: ECON 3023 recommended. Prerequisites: 3 ch of first-year microeconomics (ECON 1013, or ECON 1014) and 3 ch of first-year macroeconomics (ECON 1023, or ECON 1024), or ECON 1073. | ||
