CHE5234Oil Refining and Natural Gas Processing3 ch (3C)

An introduction to the physical, chemical, and engineering principles used in the processing of oil and natural gas, into consumer productsProvides an overview of the reaction chemistry, catalysts, and other materials used in various unit operations within an oil refinery. Typical process flow diagrams, basic designs, and environmental aspects relevant to oil refining and natural gas processing are covered. Students will investigate strategies for minimizing environmental impact through process optimization, with a focus on integrating clean fuel technologies.
