Diana L. Austin Award for Effort and Achievement in English

Conditions

The award is open to first- and second-year students in any faculty or school at the Fredericton campus who have completed at least 3 credit hours of English literature or writing courses. The award recognizes students who have made exceptional effort in these courses and have markedly improved their performance. The improvement is measured against the student’s own starting point; there is no preference for students whose final grades are high. Two awards of $500 will be made each year, one to a first-year student, one to a second-year student. The awards will be made on the recommendation of the Department of English. The award is established in honour and memory of Professor Diana Austin, who taught in the Department of English from 1983 to 2016. She worked hard for her students and valued the hard work that students did for her.
