This sport and recreation industry has grown steadily in the past few decades, driven by innovation and entrepreneurial activity. This course facilitates student learning on the innovation process, managing innovation and the small business development process in sport and recreation. Students learn how to systematically develop sound business ideas for profit, non-profit or social enterprises in the sport and recreation sectors, design appropriate organization structures to facilitate business development and enable growth in the organization to reach its full potential. The importance of research (both qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods) and evidence based decision making are a core component of this course.
