Hey Grad of 2013! Apply for a Pay it Backward Award! Click here for a copy of the contest guidelines.

You have heard the term "pay it forward' - well, we want to "Pay It Backward' and help the class of UNB graduates behind us. A nomination process and contest for the Class of 2013 will ask graduates to submit a article, a poem, a video, a PowerPoint presentation, a blog, etc to tell us why they think UNB is the greatest university ever or what their greatest memory of UNB is. In essence, we want to celebrate UNB! A selection committee will determine the winners and announce the outcome.
2013 Pay it Backward - DONATION FORM
We want to inspire 100% of the 2013 Class to make a gift to the University of New Brunswick in support of three (3) monetary prizes .
Grad Legacy Project: Old Idea, New Twist...
You may have heard about it before - the Grad Class Project has been a tradition of the University of New Brunswick since 1990 when the graduating class at that time raised funds to construct the entrance gates that adorn the top of our campus. Over the years, UNB graduating students have continued this tradition and left behind legacies such as scholarships, funds to purchase materials for the UNB Libraries, improving accessibility on the campus and the creation of areas where students can gather and connect. Traditionally, graduating students were asked to give a donation of approximately $25 to fund projects that ranged between $5000 - $10 000.
Well, guess what?…we need to change that! Being asked to contribute $25 or $50 when we are just graduating does not work - BUT that does not mean we do not want to leave behind our own mark and continue to help the generations of students behind us.
So in 2012-13, we are making a change – the Grad Legacy will be about the AMOUNT OF GRAD CLASS INVOLVEMENT, not about the amount of dollars raised for a project. The success of the Graduating Class Legacy will be measured in terms of participation rather than dollars.
A gift of any amount counts toward the participation rate and provides essential support to future UNB students. A high giving rate shows the UNB community and prospective students that current students and alumni believe in the school. Not to mention, a high participation rate is one of the criterion which is used to establish university rankings. By participating, you are not only helping current and future students, you are also increasing the value of your own degree.
