In 1999, UNB Ironmen Alumni created a scholarship to honor the memory of one or our teammates, Toks Akpata, who died after becoming paralyzed from a tragic Rugby injury. Toks was not the best rugby player but he was
the best teammate! He embodied the club first attitude that is at the heart
of what Ironmen Rugby is all about. 2022 marks the 24th year for Charity
Golf, to date raising over $255K and funding 20 scholarships!
When: Tee‐off at 1:00pm on Friday Oct 14th, 2022 | Bus transport departs 11:20 am from hotel.
Where: The Links at Penn Hills Golf Club, Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia
What: Golf, cart, dinner, singing, auction and reminiscing from the glory days. Following
the golf, retire to the Old Triangle, Prince St. Halifax.
Format: Foursomes will compete in friendly Scramble rules with prizes for team and individual performance. You can suggest a foursome or we will find you one.
Cost: Golf event with meal all for the bargain price of $225. This includes a donation to
the Toks Akpata Scholarship Fund + UNB Ironmen Rugby Club. Meal only will be $50. Package is $100 for current UNB players. All must register!
Hotel: $199 per night, Sutton Place Hotel, 1700 Grafton St, Halifax, NS (book thru David

Transport: Private Coach with refreshments and snacks will pick up you and your clubs from the hotel, downtown, 11:20 am. Return trip to downtown following event. Leave your clubs at the storage in the Hotel.
Dress: Golf attire and/or Team colours (red or black).
**All attendees to bring an item to raffle/auction. Company sponsorship and prize donations also wanted! Alumni may wish to sponsor a student to participate. Merchandise and cash donations will be gladly accepted from Alumni & golfers with promo in our Tournament Program**
