Saba MattarWe investigate formation mechanisms, structure-bonding relationships, and chemical reactivity of selected reaction intermediates such as S-N heterocycles, and organometallic transition metal complexes. These compounds are building blocks that react to form important new magnetic, conducting and spin-electronic materials and we study them using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), Raman, infrared and UV-Vis spectroscopy.  Their properties are also calculated by LDF, CASSCF and configuration interaction methods.
