Emily Bossé, MA Creative Writing Graduate 2014, on Journey Prize Shortlist!

Emily BosséCongratulations to Emily Bossé on being one of three shortlisted finalists for The Writers' Trust/McClelland & Stewart Journey Prize for her story "Last Animal Standing on Gentleman's Farm" first published in The Fiddlehead no. 258 (Winter 2014). The story is one of twelve that will be published in the Journey Prize Anthology. The anthology is set to be published by McClelland & Stewart on October 6. The winner will be announced by The Writers' Trust of Canada on November 3.

Two Recent MA Creative Writing Graduates Longlisted for The Journey Prize!

September 2, 2015 - Congratulations to Emily Bossé and Charlie Fiset, both longlisted for the 2015 Journey Prize for stories originally published in The Fiddlehead. Emily's story "Last Animal Standing on Gentleman's Farm" was published in No. 258 (Winter 2014) and Charlie's story appeared in No. 261 (Autumn 2014).

February 6, 2015 - Congratulations to Rebecca Salazar who has won The Malahat Review's 2015 Open Season poetry award for her poem "Synaesthesia." Judge Jan Conn called it "a striking lyrical poem . . . that shook me awake."

UNB Creative Writing MA Graduate Charmaine Cadeau Wins Relit Award for Poetry!

January 27, 2015 - Charmaine Cadeau (MA Creative Writing, 2003) has won the 2014 Relit Award for Poetry. The Relit Awards recognize the best of independent Canadian Publishing. Charmaine has won for her poetry collection Placeholder (Brick Books, 2013).
