LIVES AT LOUISBOURG: EXPLORING HEALTH AT THE FORTRESS OF LOUISBOURG
This project is a salvage excavation at the Fortress of Louisbourg, NS to recover burials in danger of erosion on Rochefort point. This project is both an experiential learning opportunity for students but will also provide faculty and graduate student research opportunities. We will be focusing on patterns of health at Louisbourg in addition to mortuary treatments and cultural differences between New Englander and French interments. This project is in partnership with Parks Canada.
