Summer term
The Summer Term is designed to meet the needs of both full-time and part-time students, and refers to courses that start in May and run throughout summer 2013. The Saint John campus offers 12-week, 8-week and 4-week sessions.
Admission
An application for admission may be obtained from the Office of the Registrar on the Saint John campus.
All students taking credit courses for degree completion, general interest, or professional improvement must also apply for admission.
Visiting students
Students wishing to take courses at UNB Saint John for credit at their home university must present a letter of permission obtainable from the Office of the Registrar of that university. Please note that registration will be delayed until receipt of this letter.
Audit provision
The University has a provision whereby students may audit courses. Please consult the Office of the Registrar at (506) 648-5670 for further details.
Regulations
A student enrolled in summer session is subject to all regulations as outlined in the current University of New Brunswick calendar. The calendar should be consulted for complete information on academic regulations and degree requirements.
Unless approved by their Dean, a student should not be enrolled in more than six courses at any point in time over the period May to August (including courses taken at UNB Fredericton) as part of their summer session.
Ceasing to attend lectures or notifying the instructor does not constitute official withdrawal. The effective date will be the date the withdrawal is completed through the web registration system, or the date written notification is received from the student. Please note that students cannot withdraw from their 'last' course, so notification in writing to the Office of the Registrar would be required.
Students required to discontinue their studies for reasons other than their own option, (e.g. illness or business transfer), may be entitled to consideration for withdrawal without academic penalty with appropriate documentation. Please consult the calendar for more information.
Students who are attending a summer session class, and are subsequently informed of being 'Required to Withdraw from the University', will be permitted to continue in the course(s) that are already in progress; however, no further registrations will be permitted, unless and until, their status is reversed (i.e. through the appeal process).
Class cancellations
Class cancellation information is available should an instructor need to cancel a class.
