Psychology PSYC 3633 Three (3) credit hours

An examination of theory and research on motivation and emotion as explanatory concepts for human functioning. Topics covered include the motivational and emotional determinants of approach and avoidance behaviour, decision-making, intrinsic and extrinsic aspects of control, stress and coping, prosocial behaviours, emotion regulation, happiness and positive well-being.

What you will learn

This course is designed to help you:

  • Gain knowledge that will allow you to set better goals, satisfy your needs and maintain positive well-being.
  • Receive an in-class experience from the comfort of your own home or workspace.
  • Develop a plan to achieve a goal you have struggled with in the past.

Students have six months from the registration date to complete the course. All course exams and/or assignments must be completed by the designated end date.

Assignments and examinations

  • 1 x paper (30%)
  • 1 x mid-course exam (invigilated, 35%)
  • 1 x final exam (invigilated, 35%)

The exam(s) for this course will be invigilated on an approved date using Respondus e-proctoring software (LockDown Browser and Monitor). This is a free tool provided with this course, a webcam is required. More information will be given once you have been registered.

Fees and payments

There is a $150 non-refundable/non-transferable online fee per course in addition to applicable tuition and fees. This fee is non-refundable once the add/drop date has passed within the term the course is registered in. Please note this fee will be automatically added and included in your term tuition fees.
