President's message

The 150th anniversary of Confederation has encouraged us and millions of others across the country to consider our history.

This milestone also provides us with the opportunity to look to the future. Where do we see ourselves in 50, 100, or another 150 years? UNB has been a trailblazer since 1785 and that entrepreneurial spirit continues to this day.

Two capital projects underway at UNB

A $36M kinesiology building on UNB’s Fredericton campus will house a nationally significant research cluster focused on health promotion, wellness and physical fitness that will establish NB as a leader in preventative health care.

On UNB's Saint John campus a new multi-research greenhouse will provide opportunities in aquaculture, healthcare and pharmaceutical development for students, researchers and industry.

Five collective agreements reached

UNB is committed to achieving agreements that are fair, reasonable and will strengthen our university — for the benefit of students and employees. This year, we completed negotiations for collective agreements with four unions: the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers, Unifor, the Canadian Union of Public Employees and the Public Service Alliance of Canada.
