Jeff Mundee MBA

Research Developer

Jeff Mundee

Jeff Mundee is a multidisciplinary research developer in HCI, XR, AI, and game design at SPECTRAL. He brings over 25 years of experience in games and immersive development, with applied expertise in VR/AR/MR, user experience, and research-to-practice delivery across academic and industry projects. He contributed to the development and deployment of the Learn Where You Live VR program with UNB Nursing, art pipeline optimizations for gaming, and AI-enhanced VR scenarios aligned with UNB curriculum and pedagogy. Jeff holds an interdisciplinary Master’s degree and DUT from UNB as well as a BA in Media Studies, diplomas in game art and design, and digital communications. He has taught undergraduate courses at UNB for 15 years and mentors graduate research projects supported by his Graduate Teaching Associate status.

Amir Azimyzadeh

HCI Research Developer

Amir Azimyzadeh

Amir joined SPECTRAL as a computer science student when he began his master’s at UNB and later transitioned into an HCI Research Developer. Amir’s main research interests include Mixed Reality and 3D User Interfaces. He tries to build tools and techniques you can see, touch, and even believe, and hopefully they come with no instruction manuals.

Ethan Eddy

PhD Student

Ethan Eddy

Ethan Eddy is a PhD student affiliated with the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, the Human–Computer Interaction Lab, and SPECTRAL. His research explores next-generation neural interfaces, leveraging EMG signals to enable seamless, intuitive, and always available input between humans and computers.

Fahimeh Tolouee

MS Student

Fahimeh Tolouee

Fahimeh is a master’s student in computer science in the field of human–computer interaction. Her work focuses on XR technologies and how they can be used to enhance human experiences. She is currently conducting research on how mixed reality can support mindfulness practice.

Taylor Short

MS Student

Taylor Short

Taylor is finishing her master's degree in computer science in human computer interaction. Her research looks at older adults' use of technology and how mixed reality technologies can be adapted to meet their needs. Through this, her current work is exploring tangible interfaces as an alternative to traditional mixed reality interfaces.

Colin Brett

PhD student

Colin Brett is a PhD student in Human–Computer Interaction, their research explores intelligent and immersive technologies, with a focus on how attention and cognition shape digital experiences. They previously completed a BA in Computer Science at Memorial University, followed by a Master of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick, specializing in spatially organized interfaces and immersive reading experiences in Mixed Reality. Alongside research, they are actively involved in teaching, and outside the lab, they enjoy reading.

Cole Campbell

PhD Student

Cole is a PhD student in the Faculty of Computer Science, conducting research in HCI and Mixed Reality. His current research focuses on mixed reality simulation by enhancing medical task trainers with AR to provide interactive virtual patients.
