2021 Scholars

Jasmine Eng from Fredericton, New Brunswick is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program with honours in biology-chemistry on our Fredericton campus. Jasmine became involved in the community specifically to build an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.

Jasmine has accomplished this as a peer buddy for Best Buddies; peer mentor for the Science Student Leadership Program and as a volunteer for the University Women’s Centre.


Ava Hicks from Fredericton, New Brunswick will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree, honours in sociology from our Fredericton campus. Ava is motivated to help others reach their own personal goals.

Whether as a student coordinator and volunteer at Liberty Lane; an intern at the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence and as team member for Enactus UNB Ava is determined to help others along their path to success.


Sarah Kelly from Hanwell, New Brunswick will graduate from the Bachelor of Science program with a major in math from our Fredericton campus.

Passionate about knowledge and the importance of sharing it, Sarah has been a peer mentor for the UNB Faculty of Science Student Leadership Program; a conference executive for Girls STEM Up and an Executive for the UNB Mathematics Society.


Dalton Killorn from Charlottetown, PEI is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in engineering program on our Fredericton campus.

Dalton is a firm believer in taking risks, continuous learning and serving others as president of the UNB Engineering Undergraduate Society; co-chair of the Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC) and as president of the Atlantic Council of Engineering Students.


Jordan MacDonald from Saint John, New Brunswick will graduate from the Bachelor of Arts program from our Saint John campus with a major in psychology.

As a volunteer for the Promise Partnership; Editor-in-Chief of The Baron and volunteer campus/international student guide Jordan became involved in university community specifically to challenge the status quo and have a positive impact.


Reid Sutherland from Westville, Nova Scotia is pursuing a Bachelor of Art/Bachelor of Science with a major in English on our Fredericton campus.

As a key member of the Girls STEM Up program; peer mentor for the UNB faculty of science and as an athlete and a public relations executive for the UNB Women’s rugby team Reid recognizes that friendship, family and support are the traits that can transform communities.


Natasha Vatcher from Oromocto, New Brunswick will graduate with a Bachelor of Science with a major in medicinal chemistry from our Fredericton campus.

Natasha appreciates the universal value of relationships that volunteering creates as a member of Hats for the Homeless Project for Fredericton Homeless Shelters, UNBCares and for OPAL Family Services.


Mila Veljanovska from Saint John, New Brunswick is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program with a major in biology-psychology on our Saint John campus.

Mila sees the value of giving back to the UNB community and the surrounding areas as founder and president of the UNB Saint John Chess Club; volunteer at the Recreational Therapy unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital and as service director for the Golden Key Honour Society.
