Provost and Vice-Provosts

One UNB Toward 2030

UNB has an exciting, ambitious vision for the future. One where we can better serve the province and our students and reach our full potential as an institution.

To achieve our vision, we must increase research performance, strategic partnerships, online and on-campus programs and provide even more students transformative learning experiences.

Achieving our vision required bold organizational changes, including a move to a new academic leadership structure by creating a provost and amalgamating many administrative functions.

Petra Hauf, Provost and Vice-President Academic: Dr. Petra Hauf is the inaugural provost & vice-president academic at UNB. In her new role she serves as the chief academic officer and delivers the academic mission at the university’s two main campuses in Fredericton and Saint John and the Moncton site.

Van Lantz, Vice-Provost Academic Administration: As vice-provost academic administration, Dr. Lantz oversees UNB’s academic planning processes, academic quality assurance & accreditation, academic instructor contracts, and faculty labour relations.

Michel Rod, Vice-Provost Strategic Enrolment: Dr. Michel Rod is the inaugural vice-provost strategic enrolment at UNB. In his new role he oversees UNB’s domestic and international student recruitment, domestic and international partnerships, the registrars’ offices and the Office of Institutional Analysis.

Kathy Wilson, Vice-Provost Learning & Student Experience: Dr. Kathy Wilson is UNB’s first vice-provost learning and student experience. Dr. Wilson oversees student affairs and services, experiential learning and the newly established learning futures unit.
