Introduction to Biological Principles II

Biology BIOL 1019 Three (3) credit hours

This course is the online version of the BIOL1012 lecture course. We start off the course by building an understanding of evolutionary processes and the origin of species, then we explore biological diversity across the tree of life and discuss how organisms form communities and ecosystems.

What you will learn

This course is designed to help you:

  • Gain the necessary foundation for future students in biology and related academic fields.
  • Learn and understand key concepts that science students need in upper-level courses.
  • Accommodate your busy schedule (this course is an asynchronous online course so you decide when to move to the next topic and when to write your tests/final).

Students have six months from the registration date to complete the course. All course exams and/or assignments must be completed by the designated end date.

Assignments and examinations

  • 2 x tests (60% total; 30% each)
  • 1 x final test (40% total)
