Bachelor of Science (BSc)
Our BSc programs provide you with a foundation in the biological, physical and mathematical sciences.
With our four-year program, you can opt for a general science degree, or choose from among a variety of majors, specializations and minors.
In addition to labs, lectures and tutorials, you can also take advantage of interactive labs on and off campus. You can choose to study any of the following areas:

Bachelor of Nursing (BN)
UNB Saint John’s comprehensive BN program explores the full breadth of the nursing profession, from community nursing to emergency care. Students begin with introductory classes in the physical and social sciences along with courses geared towards career development.
In their second year, students focus on health specialties such as mental health, young families and the relationship between bodies and disease. Third year studies concentrate on acute care, and fourth year studies focus on community nursing.
Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHS)
Our BHS degree offers a blend of classroom theory and on-site practical training in partnership with the New Brunswick Community College Saint John Campus, The Moncton Hospital and the Saint John Regional Hospital. You'll spend approximately two years with the partner institution studying specific themes and developing skills related to your specialty. Areas of specialization are as follows:
- Nuclear Medicine
- Radiation Therapy
- Respiratory Therapy
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BScE)
At UNB, home to Canada's first engineering program, you’ll enjoy the benefits of more than 155 years of engineering teaching excellence. You'll be off to a great start in Saint John, enjoying the benefits of small classes for the first and second years of your program, before transferring to our Fredericton campus to complete your degree. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BScCS) and Bachelor of Information Sciences (BISc)
Computer Science students at UNB gain an understanding of programming languages, computer hardware, data structures and algorithms. Our computer scientists help businesses develop information systems, create software and help develop next-generation networking and communications technologies.
Information Sciences Analysts help governments, businesses and organizations find patterns and meaning in the information overload that we experience on a daily basis. Students can opt to take areas of specialization in:
- Networking (BScCS)
- Decision and Systems Science (BISc)
- Decision and Business Management (BISc)
- Software Engineering
Bachelor of Science in Financial Mathematics (BScFM)
Financial Mathematics is the application of mathematical models to the solution of problems in the financial industry.
It draws upon tools from Mathematical Sciences, Business and Economic theory. Financial institutions, insurance companies, corporate treasuries and major corporations require analysts with high skills in financial mathematics.
