Message from the Vice-President (Research)

Welcome to the University of New Brunswick’s (UNB) research activities pages.

UNB has a long history of research activities in Canada ranging from William Brydone Jack’s (UNB president, 1861-1885) development of our country’s borders in the 1840’s to current innovations driving advanced Google mapping of our planet.

As a comprehensive university, UNB is involved in many research areas.  Central to all of our activities is an innovation and entrepreneurial mindset. This approach allows our researchers to solve problems and bring new knowledge to our communities, our country and the world.

Please explore our pages to understand the strengths of our research programs and the breadth of areas we cover.
