The UCard PHIL Station on the Saint John campus is now back online and available for use.

Update as of 1:50pm, August 27th:

The UCard vending machine readers, are now online.

Services that are currently unavailable, which should be brought back later today , August 27th are:

  • The UCard PHIL Station on the Saint John campus

As the ITS team restores services, we will continue to update the UNB community.

Update as of 8:25am, August 27th:

The On-Premises SharePoint sites (including ECN sites) are now back online.

Services that are currently unavailable, which should be brought back later today , August 27th are:

  • The UCard PHIL Station on the Saint John campus

The UCard vending machine readers, as indicated in the last update yesterday, August 26th, are still unavailable, and services will be restored as part of the UNB Wireless replacement project.

Update as of 2:50pm, August 26th:

Services that are currently unavailable, which should be brought back online tomorrow, August 27th are:

  • The UCard PHIL Station on the Saint John campus
  • On-Premises SharePoint sites

As part of the UNB Wi-Fi project, UCard vending machine readers on the Fredericton campus are not available right now in in buildings which have been migrated to the new UNB wireless. Buildings affected are: Bailey Hall, Carleton Hall, Facilities Management, Head Hall (New), Gillin Hall,  Information Technology Centre (ITC), Keirstead Hall, Kinesiology, Ludlow Hall, McLaggan Hall, Old Head Hall, Singer Hall, Tilley Hall, Toole Hall. This service will be restored to these buildings as wireless configurations are updated.

As the ITS team restores services, we will update the UNB community.

  • The Moncton campus is now back online, except for the current UNB Wireless outage affecting the Moncton campus
  • On-Premises SharePoint sites are currently unavailable--this should be resolved later today.

Update as of 1pm August 26th:

All services have been restored except:

  • The UNBSJ UCard PHIL Station is currently unavailable
  • Vending machine UCard readers are currently unavailable
  • On-Premises SharePoint sites are currently unavailable
  • The Moncton Campus is currently down.

All services are expected to be restored later this afternoon. As services are restored, we will update this posting.

The majority of UNB services are now available.

Our team is still working on some of the services being moved to the new firewall. Clients may notice some connectivity issues with a few services as the work is being completed.

We will update as services are completely restored.

Due to the unexpected degradation of UNB’s old firewall, ITS will be migrating UNB IT services to UNB’s new firewall on Sunday, Aug. 26 from 6 a.m. – 9 a.m. (three hours).

As a result, the following UNB services will be unavailable during this time:

  • UNB wireless
  • All UNB email
  • VoIP telephone services
  • Access to network printing and drives
  • myUNB Portal
  • UCard Services, including:
    • UCard Online
    • UCard Gift Deposits
    • UCard App
  • Colleague
  • eServices
  • Footprints
  • CMS
  • D2L Brightspace
  • All UNB webpages
  • UNB’s Virtual Private Network (VPN)
  • The UNB App

No email or voicemail messages will be lost during the outage. All email and voicemail messages will be put in a queue and delivered when services are restored.
