Graduate Studies in Mathematics and Statistics

The Graduate program in Mathematics and Statistics at UNB involves active researchers on both the Fredericton and Saint John campuses.  There are currently around 20 students with research topics in a wide variety of areas.  The departments offer MSc programs by either thesis or report as well as PhD programs.

Here at UNB we specialize in several areas of Mathematics:

  • Pure Mathematics
    • algebra and algebraic geometry,
    • combinatorics,
    • geometry,
    • operator algebra
    • non-commutative geometry
  • Mathematical Physics
