Karen Bridget Murray is Associate Professor of Political Science, as well as Associate Professor of Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies. She received her Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of British Columbia in 2001 and taught for five years at the University of New Brunswick. She has published numerous works, including articles in Urban Geography, Canadian Journal of Urban Research, The Canadian Historical Review, Canadian Public Administration, Canadian Review of Social Policy, BC Studies, and Social Theory and Health. She currently sits on the editorial boards of Global Studies and BC Studies and was named a York University Research Leader for 2014-2015. In 2013, she was Visiting Research Chair in Canadian Studies at Kennesaw State University in Greater Atlanta.
