UNB & REDS Recreation are pleased to offer members and full-time students opportunities to use the sporting facilities on campus for different recreational activities.

Open recreation activities

Looking to use the facilities to shoot hoops, play table tennis or can’t make badminton nights work with your schedule. Members and Full-Time Students can access this space during the open rec times booked on the schedule.

See the recreation gym schedule to find out what times are set aside for open recreation. The schedule varies according to events and other bookings.

Equipment that can be signed out includes the following:

  • Basketballs
  • Soccer balls
  • Table tennis paddles
  • Badminton rackets
  • Skipping ropes
  • Volleyballs
  • Boxing gloves
  • Pickle ball equipment
  • Spike ball equipment

You'll need to sign out equipment at the front desk and bring it back when you're done with it.


Welcome to REDS Recreation Badminton, we offer badminton to members and full time Students every Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. (Additional Sundays will be offered depending on the recreation gym schedule)

Richard J. CURRIE CENTER, 1st floor

  • Monday – 5 - 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday – 6 - 8 p.m.
  • Friday – 5 - 10 p.m.
  • Sunday – 12 - 2 p.m. (Varies according to bookings)

Come Join REDS Recreation at the Open Skate every Tuesday & Thursday at noon. All members and full-time students are welcome. Location: Aitken University Centre (AUC)

  • Oct. 25 – March 30
  • 12 - 1:15 p.m.

Note: There'll be no Open Skate during Reading Week (March 4 - 8) and the two weeks following due to the U Sports/CCAA Curling Championships and Curling Canada Mixed Doubles Curling Championship (March 11 - 22) taking place at the Aitken Centre.

Our final open skate sessions on March 26 and 28.


Members and full-time students have access to drop-in squash courts located at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym.

Users can inquire at the LB Gym front desk to borrow rackets or purchase squash balls.


REDS Recreation is pleased to have partnered with Student Services to offer a bike rental program to members and full-time students.

This program takes place from May 1 until Oct. 30.


Practice your swing on the range

From Feb. 5 - April 19, practice your swing on the range inside the BMO Centre Dome.

  • Wednesdays & Fridays (11:00 am - 2:00 pm)
  • BMO Centre Dome

Fees

  • Drop in (30 minutes): $20
  • Drop in (60 minutes): $30

  • Winter Pass (20 sessions) - $100
  • 10 Session Pass - $65

  • This includes HST

Registration for faculty/staff summer softball is now open! Registration costs $110 per team.

Leagues will be starting June 14. Games will take place Tuesdays to Fridays from 12 - 1 p.m. at the Queens Square ball fields.
