Internships

The master's level practicum in Counselling at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton, NB is part-time (2.5 to 3 days per week) and runs for an 8-month period (September through April).

The emphasis of the internship will be to provide counselling and psychotherapy services for post-secondary students presenting with a broad range of mental health concerns.

Practicum counsellors will receive weekly individual supervision as well as regular group supervision & case consultations. Practicum counsellors may also have the opportunity to facilitate or co-facilitate groups, workshops or outreach programs. Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to attend the practicum information session to obtain further information, prior to applying.

Applicants should be M.Ed students enrolled in a Counselling program (or equivalent), who have met all program requirements to begin their practicum. Also, completion of ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) is required prior to commencement of internship.
