IBME unveils their Centre for Adaptive Rehabilitation Engineering (CARE), housed in the newly constructed Pickett Wing. This centre uses state of the art equipment and facilities to provide research and clinical care for efficient, personalized rehabilitation.
“My team at UNB uses machine learning to better understand, assess, or control human movement and health,” said Dr. Erik Scheme, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering and director of the Health Technologies Lab at UNB. “This first-of-its-kind project is an exciting opportunity to apply our expertise in the real world.”
Our environment can modify our activity in important ways. Changes to our built environment, (sidewalks, crosswalks, improved infrastructure, and playgrounds) can significantly increase physical activity rates and participation in active transportation.
