English for Academic Purposes

With an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) focus, these options offer maximum benefit to participants wishing to increase their English proficiency for study in university undergraduate and graduate programs. The Intensive English Term Format and the Intensive English Term Segment can equip you with the English language skills you need.

The challenging academic classes focus on learning targets to improve your ability to write, read, problem solve, study independently, give presentations, and improve note-taking and critical thinking skills.

• Full-time language studies incorporate class time, homework, tutorials and advising
• Available for all language proficiency levels, beginner to advanced
• Participants commit to function only in English during all classes, projects and workshops
• Specialized ELP curriculum in major components of language (oral, aural, speaking, reading, writing) designed to improve students’ abilities to communicate effectively, efficiently and spontaneously at a level appropriate to undergraduate/graduate study

Intensive English

This program is offered Monday through Friday (35+ hours per week) and offers individualized timetables, exposure to various teachers, and access to the UNB library system. Students can choose from an entire term or a segment of the term.

• Fall Term: September 3 (registration) - December 9, 2025

Fees*

• $5,975 per term
• $550 application fee (100% applied to the course cost - $200 non-refundable)

Intensive English Term Segment

Dates

• Fall Segment I: September 3 (registration) - October 21, 2025
• Fall Segment II: October 15 (registration) - December 9, 2025

Fees*

• $3,542 per segment
• $550 application fee (100% applied to course cost - $200 non-refundable)

*All fees are in Canadian dollars, are valid from May 2025 - December 2025 and are subject to increase without notice. 30 days' written notice of cancellation before course commencement is required before a refund is considered.
