The first program of its kind in Atlantic Canada that meets the coursework requirements needed to apply to write the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board®, Inc. (BACB®) Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst® (BCaBA®) examination. Students can complete the certificate along with their undergrad program. Upon successful completion of this program you may be eligible to apply to write the exam to become certified.
BCaBA® certification graduates are highly sought after by employers.
Learn to intervene with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder and their families to promote their development and independence through the implementation of an individualized intervention plan based on an intensive behavioural approach. All courses in this program are based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
Start date is Feb. 7, 2022. The practicum will provide 12 days of online training sessions via Zoom, working closely with autism experts.
This program is the first of its kind in Atlantic Canada to meet the coursework requirements needed to apply for BACB® Registered Behavior Technician™ (RBT®) Credential. The program is based on the RBT Task List and is designed to exceed the 40-hour training requirement for the credential. It is offered independent of the BACB®. Visit bacb.com/rbt for details. |
The Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Training for Families and Caregivers is suitable for persons who face the day-to-day demands of managing behavioural challenges of individuals of varying ages, with intellectual disabilities, experiencing autism spectrum disorders (ASD), or general behavioural challenges.

One of the most critical issues currently facing Canada’s intervention sector is a shortage of skilled labour to fill the growing demand for FASD diagnosis, intervention, and support. This program is designed to provide participants with the essential skills to apply in a variety of roles and support sectors.
Start date is Oct. 17, 2022. A certificate of proficiency will be granted upon completion of the entire series.
