Data Matters is a new series that consists of four short online courses that will help you get comfortable working with administrative data. It is offered in partnership between UNB and the New Brunswick Institute for Research, Data and Training (NB-IRDT).

  • The program is completely online, asynchronous, and self-paced
  • Each course only requires 10 hours of your time
  • No assessments or marks but there are optional reflective activities

Registered Nurses currently employed by NB Regional Health Authorities and novice to the critical care setting may apply.

The New Brunswick Critical Care Nursing Program (NBCCNP) is a standardized Critical Care Certificate program based on the standards of the Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses (CACCN), the National Emergency Nurses Affiliation (NENA), and the Canadian Council of Cardiovascular Nurses (CCCN).This 11-week, professional development certificate program is delivered primarily online with on-site clinical tutorials and a 135-hour clinical preceptorship in critical care.

The LPN-BN Nursing Pathway provides the education needed for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in New Brunswick to apply to UNB's Bachelor of Nursing (BN) Fredericton program. The LPN-BN Nursing Pathway builds on current knowledge and nursing practices and prepares students for entry into the third year of the four-year BN Fredericton program.

The Forensic Nursing Certificate (FNC) is a self-paced, online professional development program designed to provide Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) with knowledge of forensic nursing in secure environments. The program is delivered online and links the theory, policy, and practice elements of forensic nursing in secure environments.

You can register for the full certificate or individual courses, and while we do encourage taking the courses in chronological order, you are not required to do so. You may take the courses in the order that works best for your study plan.

We have been offering Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training since 2001 and are a leader in online OHS education.

The Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (DOHS) is an advanced, online program has been designed for OHS leaders, and emerging leaders, who hold a UNB approved certificate in OHS or a professional designation such as the CRST® or CRSP®.

Broaden your skills and knowledge in health and safety with a combination of courses in leadership, business, management, and specialized technical topics. This program consists of 10 courses (four required core courses and six technical electives).

The Certificate in Safety Leadership (CSL) helps participants through the development of specific skills, knowledge, and abilities required to gain influence, build consensus, and successfully create positive change in the organizations where they work. This program is comprised of three courses, each with five online learning modules.

The Certificate in Psychologically Safe Leadership (CPSL) is a three-course program that has been designed to equip leaders with the skills and insight needed to identify mental risks and reduce mental harms in the workplace.
