Whether you're looking to pivot to a new path or enhance your current one, a boot camp is a great way to upskill without uprooting your life. The University of New Brunswick – a longtime innovator in the STEM space – is proud to deliver the region's first university-backed online boot camp in partnership with edX. We currently offer a coding boot camp, with more to come soon.
When you pursue a UNB boot camp, you can expect:
Structured flexibility: Our boot camps are offered on a part-time basis over 24 weeks. Our live, online classes are held in the evenings, and you can complete self-guided coursework when your schedule allows.
Results-driven curricula: Industry demands are always evolving, and so are our boot camp curricula. You'll complete the program with a certificate of completion and the confidence to dive into your new career right away.
Expert instruction: Our university-vetted instructors bring real-world expertise to the classroom, and they'll be available to you for 1-on-1 office hours when you need guidance.
Career services support: From career coaches to webinars to portfolio review, you'll have the help you need to land the job you want. You'll also receive exclusive access to our network of 250+ employer partners.
Respected regional partnerships: Our university is proud to partner with regional industry leaders that include our own McKenna Institute — formed in 2021 to help digitally transform New Brunswick — and TechImpact, an organization committed to growing job opportunities in the Atlantic Canadian region through STEM education. Together, we're investing directly into New Brunswick’s tech labour market.
Our live online boot camps are designed for people like you who need the flexibility to fit their education around their existing commitments, without sacrificing accountability or face-to-face interaction.
In a UNB boot camp, you'll receive the same skilled instruction and market-driven curricula as students in our in-person classes, learning the most up-to-date tools and technologies to meet the demands of employers.
Hands-on classroom experience: Classes are held face-to-face, virtually, allowing learners to ask instructors questions as they arise and collaborate with classmates on exercises and projects.
Communication and feedback: We prepare our learners for success by offering multiple channels for feedback and communication with instructors and fellow classmates, including email, phone, office hours and a dedicated Slack channel.
Built-in support: Learners receive extensive job placement support, including career-planning services, portfolio reviews, technical interview training, and recruiting help to position them for success in the field.
New Brunswick residents who meet certain eligibility criteria may qualify for the McKenna Institute Tuition Support Program, which provides up to 75% off tuition for the 2022–2023 academic years. To learn more and apply, fill out a contact form.
