TME Diploma Overview
The objective of the Technology Management
and Entrepreneurship (TME) program is to provide students
with a bias towards technology an opportunity to build stronger
business management, venturing, and interpersonal skills.
These complementary skills will allow them to effectively
communicate their technological ideas and influence others
in an entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial environment. The
program is designed for students presently enrolled in undergraduate
programs, graduate engineers and scientists already in the
workforce.

The TME program consists of five courses for a total of 15 credit hours.
A grade of 'C'; or better must be achieved in each course. In selecting courses, students will be advised to develop a curriculum that builds skills in three key areas: business management, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. Of the five
courses, three of the following core courses are compulsory; |
- TME 3013: Entrepreneurial Finance
- TME 3113: Business Planning and Strategy in an Entrepreneurial Environment
- TME 3213: Quality Management
- TME 3313: Managing Engineering and Information Technology Projects
- TME 3413/MBA 6119*: Technological Creativity and Innovation
- TME 3423/MBA 6314*: Technological Risk and Opportunity
*Note: Some TME courses are accepted as credit towards an
MBA at UNB.
The remaining two elective courses may be chosen to reflect the specific business
interest and direction of the participant. They may be chosen from the list
above.
The TME courses listed below have been added to the curriculum to extend the
choice of electives.
- TME 3346: Marketing of Technological Goods and Services
- TME 3913: Entrepreneurial Learning - Technology Management and Entrepreneurship
Other suggested topics for electives would include marketing, organizational
behaviour, finance, construction management and public works administration.
There is a list of electives found on our application form which would be
acceptable for the Diploma in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship. Other
acceptable electives containing elements of technology, sociology, management
and business may be accepted upon approval. Some electives from this list may
not be accepted due to duplication elsewhere in the TME program.
Students should be aware that not all elective courses are offered every year
and that entry may be limited subject to approval of the course professor.
