The Mansion
Renaissance College is housed in a location that embodies its objectives. A small Victorian mansion just off the main UNB campus provides the perfect setting for group based classes and discussions. Classes are held in one of three classrooms on each of the three floors. There students are often seated in a circle, when not working in smaller groups, to promote discussion. Attached is Maggie-Jean Chestnut a small 31 student residence with a large commercial kitchen. RC students may choose to stay in Maggie-Jean, live on campus in one of the other student residences or live off-campus. The quality, age and tradition of the old building perfectly houses Renaissance College's unique and new approach to education.
The building is also equipped with a kitchen available for student use 24 hours a day. Each month the college's roughly 80 students and faculty host a common meal, wherein students, faculty and staff gather at the college to cook, eat and discuss the current topics at the college. Each week the College's kitchen also hosts "Soup's On" where several students and a faculty member make soup for the College community.
